For new brands, particularly those selling apparel, home products, fashion accessories, personal care, and general merchandise at competitive price points, Meesho offers something Amazon and Flipkart don’t: historically zero or near-zero commission rates (Meesho’s business model focuses on logistics fees and advertising rather than commission), which makes it a lower-risk starting platform for new sellers.

  • Lower barrier to entry: simpler registration, less stringent category restrictions, easier initial listing approval
  • Zero or low commission model: Meesho charges suppliers primarily through logistics fees, not sales commission — helping preserve margin, especially for lower-priced products

Meesho has notably lighter documentation requirements than Amazon or Flipkart for initial registration — the GSTIN and PAN verification is the primary gateway.


Step-by-Step: Meesho Supplier Registration

Step 1: Go to Meesho Supplier Panel

Navigate to supplier.meesho.com and click “Start Selling.”

Step 2: Enter Mobile Number and Verify via OTP

Enter your active business mobile number and verify via OTP.

Step 3: Enter Business Details

  • Business name (as on GST certificate)
  • Email address
  • Complete business address

Step 4: Enter GSTIN and PAN

Enter your GSTIN and PAN. Meesho validates both in real time.

Step 5: Add Bank Account

Enter bank account number and IFSC. Upload a cancelled cheque or bank statement for verification.

Step 6: Complete Profile and Start Listing

Unlike Amazon and Flipkart, Meesho doesn’t require a product to be listed to complete registration — account activation happens after basic profile completion and document verification (typically within 24–48 hours).

After activation, create your catalog: upload product images, set prices, and specify quantities.


Meesho Catalog Quality — Critical for Visibility

Meesho’s search algorithm heavily weights catalog quality when determining product visibility. Poor quality catalogs get buried; high-quality catalogs get prioritized.

Catalog quality factors:

  • Images: Meesho requires clean, white or light background product images as the primary photo. Multiple angle shots significantly improve catalog score
  • Product title: clear, specific, keyword-rich — “Women’s Cotton Printed Kurta Set — Navy Blue — Size M” rather than “Nice Kurta”
  • Price competitiveness: Meesho’s algorithm factors in pricing relative to similar products — hyper-competitive pricing gets priority visibility
  • Complete product attributes: size, color, material, occasion — the more attributes filled, the better the catalog score

Meesho Fulfilment Model

Meesho primarily operates a self-ship model — you receive orders, pack them, and drop at a Meesho logistics partner (Delhivery, DTDC, Ekart, etc.) or schedule a pickup. Meesho covers the logistics cost and deducts it from your payout.

Meesho recently introduced Meesho Fulfilment (MF) — a managed fulfilment option similar to FBA — in select categories and cities, allowing suppliers to send inventory to Meesho warehouses for faster delivery and higher visibility.
